I often
question myself if I am an extrovert or an introvert because I do not fit in
either one. I find myself falling in the middle, therefore I believe that I am an
ambivert depending on the circumstance I find myself in. Well let me start off
with the introvert side of me. I sometime find myself avoiding crowed or paying
close attention to things that really interested me the most. Like doing my
assignments on time, worried about whom I’m friends with and other things in
life. Also, I often appeared to be quiet in a new place and sometime find it
difficult to step out of my comfort zone.
On the other
hand, I believe that the extrovert side of me come out when I am comfortable
with the situation or person. At this point people tries to avoid me because I
become very annoying to them. Also, I loved to socialize and get involve in
many activities in school and church once I get comfortable. I was involve in several clubs and
organizations in high school including drama club, soccer club, diversity club
e.c.t. while in college I am still actively involved in organizations and off campus activities. The
impression I got from the assigned reading was that introverts were brilliant
while extrovert weren’t as brilliant as introvert. On page 26, the author
describe Carl Jung view on introvert, he consider them to be “educator and
promoters of cultures”. I personally I do
not agree with his assumption of an introvert personality. From a personal
experience I believe that not everyone who has an introvert personality fit his
description.
