Attention Starved

I remember the massive amount of attention the Jodi Arias trial got, and also remember seeing a bit of the movie about it. It was, and still is apparently, a trial about a psycho that stabbed her boyfriend to death while he was in the shower, slit his throat, and shot him in the head to seal it. She appeared normal to the public when not murdering someone obviously, so seeing a woman being charged for such a violent murder and appearing innocent got a decent amount of public attention right away.  She also heavily craved the attention she was getting, so she was happy when past sexual phone calls, pictures, and messages were displayed in court for everyone to see. All of these things give you a pretty popular story, especially when media jumps on it.

As the trial went on a bit, Arias had to come up with some sort of temporary out to keep the conviction process nice and slow. The fact that she was guilty became glaringly obvious with how much evidence was presented, and how her fake media personality, which we’ll describe as crazy, appeared as someone who would do exactly what she did behind the scenes. Abuse is nothing to ever joke about, but she chose it as the easy excuse as to why she stabbed Travis 29 times in the back, hands, and chest to gain compassion from a decent amount of people, and keep the court and media a tiny bit unsure. This trial is just a bit of an uncommon story with a woman committing a brutal murder, so it got popular. It’s too bad she got any attention and hasn’t been locked up for a year already.
