Since the dawn of time I feel that we as humans beings get a
kick out of seeing the shortcomings of others around us. Whither it is from the
gladiators fighting in the coliseum to the crimes of a random person blown up
on the media. The Jodi Arias Trials personally is something that I am hearing
right now and I am not sure as to why it became so popular. Taking a look at
the little info that I found I think the fact that they televised the entire
trial gat it its publicity that it probably didn’t deserve. And from what I
could see they basically made into a celebrity and made sure to keep her in the
lime light. This grew to the point of letting us know that she was doing well
and even selling artwork in jail? Maybe it was the weirdness of this whole
trial that gave it so much of a spark. Even though I didn’t hear about it, all
that I am hearing now makes if sound like it could be worth hearing. Think of
this a little more maybe there were a considerable amount of people during this
time the could relate to what Arias was going through. Maybe it was a example
for other to see and a lesson for all to learn that the law is hard to break. This
is all hypotheticals that really don’t matter, since she was convicted. Do people
still think of her? Sure I mean look at Manson. Will I change her fate? That is
unsure and I guess we have to wait to see what the future hold for her. In the
end I really don’t care.
I hadn't ever heard of this case either, it seems so strange that it got so popular and I have literally zero idea of how it did so.
ReplyDeleteI share your lack of knowledge regarding this case, apparently it was very large. However, I agree with the statement that people get some kind of pleasure out of others follies. I see it all of the time, people looking for others misfortunes to feel good about their own lives.
ReplyDeleteI also had not heard of the case but I thought it was interesting to read about. It interests me how woman murderers also seem to make the news. Because of it being rarer than we think it is, it usually becomes a big deal. I do agree with what you said about human wanting to or getting a kick out of other people suffering but that I just what seems to interest the human mind. Violence.
