I
believe that there's many reasons why this case is popular and got so much
attention such as, the killer was a woman, it was broadcasted widely and also
was a "love story". The story behind this case is very intriguing and
catches a lot of people’s attention. Most people can relate to stories about
love and being hurt so a lot of people tend to take sides and get into disputes
on whose guilty and who's not. The fact that they had the whole trial
broadcasted and people were able to have more access to it they treated it like
a show, watching it intently and keeping up with the drama of it all. Some may
argue that because there was so much damage to his body that she was definitely
not self-defending, some may believe she was caught up in that moment and was still
fighting after it happened. There's always sides to these types of cases. This
is why I believe that it became such a big spectacle and people just couldn't
stop watching and being involved with the drama of it all. All of these
things could lead to the reason why so many people got hooked on watching and
hearing about the case of Arias and what she did to the man she once loved.
I think it was also very interesting how the case has changed shape as it moved on. Originally the question was did she kill Alexander, then we get our answer and are asking if it was self-defense. Now we are asking what her sentence will be. It just keeps being entertaining.
