Fantasy: The Escape Into Another World

People relate to fantasy because I believe that when one gets caught up in a fantasy story; they are able to look past the magic and impossible rules of that given reality, and see the parallels that storyline has with their own life.  Furthermore, one can get attached to whatever the given challenge the main character or characters are given throughout the story.  They might perceive these challenges as the ones they face in their life, perhaps as a way to solve their real life problems; or to contrast these stories might provide an escape from ones everyday life.  These stories are often describing worlds of vast wonder and even highlight some of the traits of a fantasy world that people may wish were part of their reality.  For example: the ability to have a sword capable of cutting through almost anything, or traveling faster than the speed of light.  These are things that I would like to think many people have considered being capable of accomplishing such tasks as just a part of life.  Perhaps in being able to temporarily escape from reality in these fantasy worlds people are able to find peace going throughout their days as well.  By this I mean that due to having an outlet, in this case being sucked into a fantasy world keeps their daily lives more tolerable.  In this world we can have many outlets and ways to make us feel alive, for some, fantasy stories are just what we need, an escape into another world.
