Running away from reality

I believe that some people use these fantasy worlds as an escape, from their own reality. For most people reality it is often too boring, and monotone and has become stale. They can use these fantasy worlds to project their selves into them. Some try to turn these fantasy worlds to try to make their reality simulate these fantasy worlds. People are often basing their lives off of the movies they see the books they read and the video games that they play. People sometimes want something different that breaks the cycle of everyday life.
People base their love life off of the Disney movies and romance films. They want it to be love at first sight, and believe that they will eventually have a fairy tale ending. Which may not always be the case. By trying to live the lives that fictional characters live many girls end up being heartbroken because the teenage boy is nothing like prince charming. But more often they just want something to bring adventure into their life. So that they don’t keep living the same routine every day. This is why many turn to Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Ring because all of them involve someone who is living this incredibly boring life and then is whisked off to an adventure and becomes the hero.

In conclusion, people use fantasy worlds to escape their often boring realities. They project themselves into the characters so that they can become the hero and eventually become a hero just like the character and go off on an adventure that only fantasy can bring.
