Adapting to the Dursley's

During Harry's time in Diagon Alley we are able to see how open minded Harry can be, even going into something new such as a foreign school for wizards. While there he is taunted by a young boy as he is attempting to purchase his uniform, which would leave Harry distraught, but Harry's doubts about becoming a wizard would soon diminish. Harry's ability to adapt to a situation is critical to what will help Harry become the great wizard he is so destined to be. In the second chapter we begin to see how mistreated Harry is, while at the Dursley's. Due to the situation that Harry was in, he was able to build a sense of adaptability to what ever life would throw at him. Even While being stuffed in a closet Harry was able to keep an open mind and look forward to the future knowing that one day he would be able to escape the nightmare that is the Dursley's. Harry's ability to transition from the muggle world to the world of Wizardry is also notable, due to the fact that many of Harry's peers had been predisposed to Wizardry. While Harry may start from the back of the pack we quickly see how powerful of a wizard Harry may someday be due to his resilience and ability to adapt to anything brought before him.

  1. We all have the difficult family members that don't believe in who we are or what we believe. Just like Harry Potter's family we have people that mistreat us and disrespect us in all kinds of ways. Luckily Harry and most others that are treated horribly by bullies or family members around us think of the positive aspect of life. Being able to stay strong and not go sour helped him become the wizard he learned he was suppose to be. Even with all the abuse his aunt and uncle caused him to have because of who he was he stayed strong for himself. We all need to be able to do this everyday, if something bad happens we should look at the positives rather then the negatives of life. Harry did and it worked for him at the end maybe it will work for all of us!
