The first passage where Harry and Ron meet Herminie is a
bold impression. She comes off as cocky and arrogant to them right away. She points
out the Ron is unable to complete a spell and is having trouble with magic. She
is being judgmental toward the amount of food they have in their car as well. She
also mentions that she already has her books memorized. The boys just stare at
her and each other as they think she is weird. Her personality comes off very
strong and makes her known that she is very smart. She reads to know all of her
knowledge and she makes it known to the world. Her strong personality of
knowledge is intimidating to people though. She stands at the door of their car
acting like she owns the place with her snappy attitude of asking is they know
where the toad is. She talks about the houses and how she thinks she will be n
Gryffindor because it is the best house and she has to be the best. This is
making her seem as if she is the best at everything and has to be the best. Her
knowledge of the school is overwhelming the boys also. The amount of knowledge
she has is overwhelming to people and her personality shows this. Because she
has a strong personality and has to know everything and be right all the time
she gets her knowledge to stay on top of everyone. Herminie certainly has her
fair share of knowledge and her personality makes everyone aware of it.
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I did a similar post about Hermione and her personality. I agree she does seem to know everything there is to know about Hogwarts before she even gets there. She already knows half the spells in her books. At first, she does act all snappy, arrogant, and wants to act like she's better than everyone else. However, at the end of the book, she really seems to be a genuine, nice girl overall. She helped Harry and Ron with a lot of things, and all three of them end up being best friends by the end of the book. By the looks of it, all three of them will continue to be best friends throughout all the books that J.K. Rowling had written. Great job on your post, Amanda!
