Good triumphs Evil

Having read all the Harry Potter books I chose to write about Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone/Sorcerers stone. The main theme in this book is perseverance, that you can overcome anything if you just don't give up. Throughout the book you see how Harry is faced with one thing after another, but he never gives up, even in situations that would cause most adults to turn the other way and run for the hills. Throughout all the books you see this, in many of the characters. Despite their great losses and the great challenges they face they carry on, and in the end succeed.

In the very beginning of the very first book Harry's parents are killed. Even this is part of the theme that despite everything he survived something that no one else had ever survived, that no one should have been able to survive, because of his mothers love. From the very first pages of the very first book to the final pages in the last book we see this theme played out.

  1. As someone who had never read any of the Harry Potter books, this was a good way to start. The power and strength that Harry shows while being reserved is quite inspiring. While the ending of the series has been spoiled for me a bit, I look forward to the journey it takes me on. What is the difference between the Sorcerers stone and the philosopher's stone, if I may ask?
