Friendships Last Forever

In all the Harry Potter books and movies, we see three students from Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry become friends. Yes, these students would be: Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger. These three have been friends from the very beginning. We all know that Harry has had a scar on his forehead ever since Lord Voldemort tried to kill him, but ended up leaving a scar instead. Throughout the movies/books, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore told Harry that when Voldemort tried to kill him, part of him had lived inside Harry. This is the reason why Harry could sense when he was near or speak the snake language, because Voldemort could do all that too. Now Ron and Hermione get to know Harry and know what is going on with him throughout the books. Whenever one of them was in trouble, the others were always there to help in any way they could. For example, in the Sorcerer's Stone, they all were trying to find the stone to destroy Voldemort. So, in order to get through, they had to play a chess match. Ron selflessly volunteered to do the chess match to get them through. He basically risked his life to help his best friend. Another example would be in the last book: Deathly Hollows, all three of them were on their own trying to find and destroy all the horcruxes in order to destroy Lord Voldemort for good. Ron and Hermione went with Harry on his journey to find the horcruxes, even if it meant risking their own lives as well. As you can see, throughout all the books/movies, these three friends always stuck together, always helped each other out when it was needed, and were always there for each other. Isn't that what a friendship is all about?

  1. Chelsea,
I love this theme! There is absolutely nothing like true friendship. I know I would be no where without every single friend that I have, and we can also see that Harry wouldn't be here without the help from his friends either. These three friends share a bond that isn't as common as it used to be. I do find that most people these days are out to save themselves and anything that deals with risk or them hurting their own selves; they tend to bail. It takes a true, strong friendship, like Ron and Harry's to be able to sacrifice one's own self just for their friend. We need more courageous and true friendships in the world today such as the friendship between Ron, Harry and Herminie!

  2. Friendship does last forever! I love this theme as well. I know in my own life I have some friends that I know will be there until the end. These are people who have been with me through the best of times an the worst of times. It is the same in Harry Potter. Harry, Ron and Hermoine have become such close friends and have been through so much together. These are friends who have each others back even if it means risking their own welfare. These are such amazing traits that we don't see enough of anymore. It makes you truly appreciate the true friends in your own life.

  3. My bestfriend and I love the Harry Potter series and we have bonded over the books and the movies and in a way they have brought us even closer. This book is all about friendship and being there for people and I do agree that that is what friendship should be, not just doing things but being invested in the other persons happiness and knowing what to do to make their day better.
