The most important theme thus
far is in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone. This important theme is
friendship. In life many of us value friendship and family, but I believe that
in this story it just reconfirms that friendship is a vital part of life. Just
like Draco Malfoy said "You'll
soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You
don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you
there." (p.244). Friendship is even more important for Harry since he did
not come from a close-knit family, so I believe that Ron and Hermione is the
best thing that came into Harry's life in Hogwarts. It is amazing to see how
their friendship is taking friendship one step further, not only do they help
each other from being in a new place but they help each other in situations
such as finding the Mirror of Erised in the dungeons.
Trying to
find true friends that understand you is difficult, do they like fashion,
softball, and staying at home on Friday nights? This is difficult, but try
finding friends that have the same magical powers as you, this may be a little
more difficult. I think this is why Harry, Ron, and Hermione's friendship is so
extraordinary and magical because they truly understand one another. They have
many difficult challenges where the reader might think that their friendship
will not last, but they pushed through it and accomplished more at Hogwarts
then they ever thought they would. The power of love and friendship is
extraordinary

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post on Friendships! I wrote a post somewhat similar to yours. I really do believe that friendships can last a lifetime if we just give each other a chance to prove it to one another. In the Harry Potter books, Harry, Hermione, and Ron face great challenges, but they help each other through those challenges. Like you said, friendship is about finding people who are a lot like you. If you do that, then you have friends that will be with you till the end of time. I really think that Harry, Hermione, and Ron's friendship is powerful. Nothing could ever break up the friendship of these three. You are absolutely right, when Ron and Hermione came into Harry's life, it was the best thing to ever happen to him. To find friends who understand him, and care for him like you said. Great job on your post, Taylor!
I really love this post! It is so difficult to find true friends who will stand beside you in everything that you do. In this case, Harry was face the most dangerous wizard ever known to the wizarding world, and yet his friends stayed right by his side the entire time no matter what the end outcome might have been. I agree that friendship is a huge theme throughout this book and love reading about how their friendship evolves into a family. Friendship is a huge part of life, and the things that you can achieve with true friends by your side is an amazing thought!
