Who would've thought that sex in space was a valuable
experiment to try? Definitely not me. The first thing that comes to my mind
when thinking about space is the Moon or Mars, not sex. But someone
believed that it was important to try out and I respect their opinion. Someday
(but I never hope for it) we will be living in space. We will need to adapt
immensely to everything around us such as how we will eat food, travel, take
showers, and even reproduce. With the laws of gravity making it much more difficult
for daily tasks, I'd rather just stay on earth honestly. I love the idea of being grounded to something and having just this world to explore. This is why I can see
some people angry about their tax dollars going into this sex in space
experiment. For me I am 50/50, I see it as an importance but not during my time
and not for my tax dollars. If you want to go ahead and wait until we know that
there is a 100% possibility of sustaining millions of human life in space, go
for it. I think space exploration is important but like I said, until we know
that we can sustain life in space we shouldn't exactly be worrying about sex
right now. Maybe if it wasn't being paid in tax but paid by people who actually
want to pay for it through fundraising instead. It may take longer to conduct
the experiment but we have the time. We aren't going to shoot humans to live
lives out into space tomorrow or even 5 years. Yes, space exploration is vital
but this topic is not as important to me but that is just my opinion.
Alexa,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because I also think that space exploration is important, but the research of sex and sexuality should not be a priority. There are so much more we could learn about space and sex and sexuality could wait until we get more answers. We do have a long way to go before people will actually have to learn about how to adapt to life in space, so waiting to research sex and sexuality is not a bad idea. If people have no problem with it and are okay with their money being spent to research this topic, then I see no problem with it.
