When I look at my paycheck every week I see about half of it disappearing. Sometimes I really wonder where it goes. I won't work overtime anymore because I end up loosing more than I actually make. If I found out that I was spending time away from my family and struggling to keep up with my assignments because my hard work, time, and money was funding the study of intercourse in space I can say I would probably be motivated to quit my job.
NASA should absolutely be held accountable for where our tax dollars are going. Something like that should be privately funded. While we live in a country where we have a lot of luxuries, I'm sure many of us would have the money that would be put towards that in our bank accounts so that we can pay our bills.
With that being said, if they were upfront about where the money was going, and asked for a minimal amount I might be open to the idea. However as I stated, if I found out that my money was going to NASA to fund the study of sex in space and not to something that is actually needed I would not be a very enthused woman.
I could not agree more with you. It makes me so upset to see that my paycheck diminishes every week. Most of it gets taken out for taxes. It feels very self defeating. I like the points you brought up in this articlw. I feel like I could relate to you very well. I think that it would be ridiculous for taxpayers to be funding a project like this. I also agree that it should be privately funded. I mean how necessary is it for us to be conducting this research now? If someone really cares I am sure they could figure out a way to get it funded rather than the blue collars paychecks.
