While watching "Sex in Space" I really started to think about the real meaning of the question at hand. I understand that the taxpayers do not want to see their money go to waste although, when you think about the situation it would be worthwhile to invest in the research of sex and reproduction in space in the long run. Thinking about what they said about how it just took a meteorite to take out the whole species of dinosaurs, and that could possibly be our future also. That leads me to believe that we need a scapegoat, something that will save the human race if that were to happen to us. We may have the technology to get into space and live but what about reproducing and continuing our race in space if the earth is no longer an option? I believe that investing in this research and tests would be worthwhile for the future of the human race and for the wellbeing of the people if it ever did come down to leaving the planet and inhabiting somewhere else in space. In the long run the human race will be glad that we did put the time and money to experiment with the process of reproduction and mating. When there comes a time that we need to leave the earth it will be something crucial to the expansion of our species and the wellbeing of the people themselves. Over all I believe that the investment into the research and experimentation of mating and reproducing into space will be crucial and worthwhile for the continuance of our species in the future if something were to ever happen.

I agree with you that it is important to ensure we have the ability to continue on, no matter what situation may arise. Everything we do is about survival and bettering our future.
