The number one thing I love to learn about is the universe. I
feel like the universe is just this huge, dark, open area where it is
impossible to see everything, no matter how long it takes you. There is just
little light that is coming from the stars the planets, and the moons, but that
is really it. Everyone wants to know what else is out there, but no one can
really tell you. It is funny that we can Google pictures of planets and see
what they look like, but it is probably nothing like that in person. Frist they
are definitely not the size we see it in pictures. They must be so huge I cannot
even imagine. I also feel like the colors is probably way more interesting in
person then in the picture we see. I would love to one day go up to space and
see everything for myself and not have to rely others to tell me, but after
reading Packing For Mars by Mary
Roach, I do not think I want to. The processors they go through just do not
seem right for me. I would love to believe
that there are little green aliens on Mars or Venus living the same lives as we
do here on Earth, but I guess I won’t go that far. There are so many views on
the universe you just don’t know what to believe. There has been in movies, television
shows, even books on the universe and even those are a little different. Everyone
got the concept of it being huge, dark, with some stars and planets though.

ReplyDeleteI am sure that the colors are extraordinary in the universe. I hope that in the future we can have a stimulator where we can see the universe as it truly is because that will be amazing. One of my dreams is to go up to space just for fun to see everything, but reading Packing for Mars, just made me realize how long the process is and all the feelings that one feels. I have anxiety as it is i cannot imagine my anxiety if I went up there! We cannot be the only human species out there, there has to be another creature but I feel like we may never know this. Movies and media help us decide what is real and what is not, so it makes it difficult to think on our own. I want to believe there is an amazing world beyond us, but it is difficult to wrap my brain around it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to personally see what is taking place in the Universe. Will I ever see this? Probably not, but it is still so fascinating to think about the spectrum of possibilities outside the third rock from the sun. I keep trying to think about the limits we have here, and what limits there are in other places. There is very little right now that we can't do here, but is there something we can do on another planet that could never been done on earth? The most likely answer is yes, but what is it? We won't know until we find it.
ReplyDeleteKrystal,
ReplyDeleteI, also, love to learn about the Universe. This book was right up my alley! It didn't take me long to finish it either! Thinking about the Universe and how it's dark and would hard to see through is also another concept that I had not thought of. I focused more on the size of the Universe, compared to the size of us and how much of the Universe is still unknown. There are so many different views that every single person has about the Universe. Only some of us will be fortunate to get to experience it!
I agree that I like to learn about space and the universe. But even after reading Packing for Mars I would still like to go up and see what it is like. Yes the astronauts have to go through a lot before they can go up and there are lots of risks and anything can happen while miles and miles away from our home planet. I have always been an adrenalin junkie and think that this would be the ultimate experience.
