The Unknown

I believe what peaks our interest into the unknown is our natural instinct to question everything. I believe everyone at some point in there life has looked up into the sky and thought about if there was anything else out in the universe. One of my favorite quotes about space is by Arthur C. Clark, hey says "Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.". This idea is partially what sparks our interest into space exploration and will probably be the main reason for space exploration in the future. I personally believe as a species it is necessary to develop technology that will allow us to live in space in order to protect the human civilization from extinction. Our desire for exploration has lead us to put man on the moon on multiple occasions as well as propel multiple satellites and rovers throughout our solar system and will hopefully one day lead us to humans setting foot on distant planets.
