The universe is vast and full of darkness. When I think of the universe I think of many
things but for these purposes I will focus on the bigger picture, and identify
some details along the way. The universe
is ultimately space and there are many things that come to mind when one thinks
of space. There are stars, planets, black
holes, and vast areas of what is described as “dark matter”. Recently it has been found that the universe
is primarily made of dark matter, which is dark areas that have exist in the
vacuum of space. So dark matter in turn is what I often what I think of when I
envision the universe. While the earth
and our world certainly comes to mind; we are just ultimately a speck of dust
in the vast, vast universe. There are
many other galaxies, and solar systems out there other than our own. So that thought is humbling within itself,
and that is a large reason as to why I only briefly think of our small rock
(earth) when I think of the whole universe.
Just to think that there may be another planet like ours somewhere out
there. I personally believe it is naive to
possibly think that we are the only form of life in our large universe we exist
in. I see the other potential forms of
life and all of the other stars, meteorites and other planets that have yet to be
discovered. This universe is more than
just our galaxy, there is much more out in the vastness of space to be scene.
I believe that in this huge universe we can't be the only living thing as well. I think that some people who believe that we are it don't know that the universe is so large and is not just our galaxy. There are many other galaxies and who knows what are in them. I can't wait to see the possibilities once we find ways to travel further and further to gather more information.
