After watching the "Living in the Universe" and "Sex in Space" episodes of The Universe, respond to the following prompt in a 250-300 word entry. Your entry and two comments are due by Friday, October 24th at 11:59 pm.
In The Universe episode "Sex in Space," Michio Kaku claims that the reason NASA has not researched sex & sexuality in space is because the program is funded by taxpayers who "want to know that their dollars are not being used for astronauts frolicking in outer space, having sex escapades at their expense".
Do you think that the space program should be held accountable to public opinion?
You may answer this question in any way you would like. However, you may want to consider not only the price associated with the program, but also the value of space exploration.
