Unattainable

When I think of the universe I think about how everything is perfectly coordinating in a system of anything that exists. I believe that it is constantly changing and is endless. The universe is quite mysterious, while reading Packing for Mars, it reminded me of how complex the university actually is. We have made many discoveries within the universe, but I do not think that we will completely discover everything. Nor do I believe that we will completely agree about everything we find. Many of us have different beliefs about how the universe arose. I know that technology is constantly improving and we are making more discoveries each day, but when we add up everything we have found it seems minimal to what is actually out there. There is so much more that we will never actually understand or find. My grandfather was actually an aerospace engineer for the United States Army located in Alabama. My dad has told me many stories about my grandfather's beliefs and discoveries. He would always say that even with the expansion of technology, with what the universe holds it will never be completely discovered it is unattainable and impossible. Which is why he enjoyed his career, he felt challenged every day. I know that we have put a man on the moon and have taken pictures on Mars, but even beyond the galaxies , the stars, the planets, we do not know what roams or what is out there. We still have questions about the Sun, the moon, the stars, the earth. The more questions we ask the more we have to discover, it is impossible to know everything, especially the universe itself.

  1. I liked how you said the Universe is perfectly coordinated...it is exactly that! Such a large system, but a system nonetheless. Everything has its place and time...which is why we can coordinate the turn of each planet around our star. Everything is place perfectly and timed, which is amazing being that the Universe evolved from the Big Bang.
I also liked how you said we will never agree on everything, also completely true! Every little thing found is debated and conflicted as to the cause and how, what, why, etc. It makes you wonder what the real truth is!

  2. In my post I also talked about how we made so many discoveries. Like there are movies and televisions shows on the universe, but no one really knows what else is out there. The technology does help us a little, but I feel like I would never know exactly unless I look for myself. Your grandfather must have had an awesome career because I love to learn about the space and everything like that so working so close to that must have been great. I know it is impossible for us to figure out what else is out there, but I am wondering how far our aeronauts will go. This was a great post! Wish you talked a little more about the stories you heard because I would love to hear them.

  3. That is a great point, that we may discover more amazing things in the universe, but will everyone believe it? As much as pictures are awesome, I do not believe a lot of things until I see it for myself, and obviously that will probably not happen with the universe. There are so many rumors out there about the planets and universe it is hard to tell what is fact and what is fiction. There is a lot of controversy with the man walking on the moon, is it real? These questions probably go through everyone's mind when we discover something new in space. I feel like you have to let your mind wonder and be set free to enjoy these magical findings in the universe.

  4. I completely agree that we won't find everything. Just look at the state of the world now. We haven't even discovered our oceans entirely. We have actually discovered more of the moon than our oceans. It's really weird to think that there will be things that we will never be able to discover.

  5. I completely agree with how we will all have our own beliefs no matter what evidence is found and we can all make different assumptions based on that evidence. I'm sure some people may believe in a God or Gods when this evidence is found which is totally fine. People are entitled to believe in what they want. This is just proving my point of how people will still be coming up with different ideas no matter what.
