I think there is a little bit of curiosity instilled in
everybody but definitely in different doses. Personally, I’m not an extremely
curious person. I typically take something for what it is and don’t really need
to do much more with it. Of course there are exceptions as to what I evaluate a
little further and am curious about things to a certain point but for the most
part I’m content with what we know. Other people are completely opposite with
what they want or need to know. Some look at something and need to know
everything about it and I think that’s a great thing. Without those people we
would not be anywhere close to where we are today. There needs to be a bit of curiosity
to gain knowledge. If there wasn’t, everyone would be content with where we are
and we would still be living like humans many years ago. It had hugely influenced
the development of civilization so far and will continue to do so. The quote by
Tyson is spot on and I completely agree. We as humans really do need to get a
closer look at things that spark our curiosity. To me this applies to everyone.
If we see or hear something that we’re interested in we automatically want to
know more and some of the time it’s nothing important at all. Curiosity in
humans is going to continue to influence our development in the future because it’s
how we advance in life. If we weren’t interested in knowing more our way of
living would remain the way it is right now for the rest of our lives.
