Human beings have always been a curios species. That curiosity
has always been the driving force of our lives through history. Whither it’s
been for good or for bad we have used this notion to push towards the future. But
so many times people are curious about why we are curious. Why do we ask
questions? What do we hope to achieve upon doing this? Why do we focus on the
future more than the present? To me I think it is all thanks to that big, curly,
pink, blob in our head. Our brain is considered one of the most developed
organs of any animal that lives on our planet. Though we share the same codes
of natural instinct it is that fact that our brain is so evolved that we wonder
if we can improve that instinct. Take the skin of our body. Our natural
instinct is to seek warmth for our bodies so we don’t die. This could be achieved
by staying out of the rain or skin an animal to cover ourselves. When we throw
our brain into the picture we see that we strive to find a better more efficient
way of producing warmth. This leads to clothing and housing structures. But this
was not born in one day. Constantly we seek ideas and some never see them
become a reality. They start the process and let another finish when they pass.
This idea just seems un-enjoyable to not reach the end goal that I started at. As
much as I know that the future is where society is heading I try not to think
of it unless in in the shortest range possible. I like to live in the now and
leave the future for later. As we can see there is already a massive group of
people thinking of the future for me
I agree-everything is up to the "curly pink blob" as you put it. When we listen to our basic instincts we can take of our basic needs in to most crude ways possible. We will eat, defecate, seek shelter, and stay alive. Then when our higher thinking comes into play we build houses, we buy clothes, we cook food, and we have bathrooms. We find new ways to make these homes, new ways to cook this food and get more and more creative as we do it-finding new ways. We are always experimenting-whether we realize it or not.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I want to say to you is that you shouldn't let others thing of the future for you-because how do you know that they are thinking of your best interest? Plan your future!
Too many people worry about the future, what's going to happen, who's going to do this or that. When we do not live in the now we cannot enjoy it, therefore, not enjoy our lives. Our brains do drive a lot of our curiosity as we develop new needs, just as we first came about our needs were a lot different than they are now, we developed clothing because of our need for warmth and protection as you explained well.
