Universe Curiosity

The universe series was interesting and very confusing at the same time. Personally I am not interested in space or our universe on a large scale. I am more interested in the human body and how our bodies work on a microscopic level. I believe the "Unexplained Mysteries" episode talked about anti-matter. When they started talking about how we use radioactive material (a form of antimatter) for PET scans of the brain, I immediately became excited. I am particularly interesting in the radiology field because I am an X-ray technician and my goal is to be an MRI tech. Human curiosity has both positive and negative outcomes. Humans are a naturally curious species and we urn to learn how things work and why things happen. I think that over all our curiously for knowledge has positively affected our society. We had made extremely impressive advances in technology. We have increased our life expectancy and our quality of life. We have also increased communication between our species and are better aware and accepting of other cultures. As far as our future goes, we will definitely make more improvements with technology. I do believe that we have the potential and knowledge to explore the universe and other planets. I also think that we could live on other planets. The only problem we are going to run into is a lack of natural resources.

  1. I liked how you looked at the idea of curiosity in your own life. I agree, talking about space and the universe is not something I necessarily something I love to talk about. Yeah, it is interesting but it doesn't spark my interest as much as the unknown here on the earth we live on. I agree with your belief that humans could live on other planets, but there is not enough resources which does beg the question do you think humans could find other resources in outer space? I really enjoyed your post thank you for sharing!

  2. Alexis,
I agree with you that the human body is more interesting but to me, the fact that there is so much information about the Universe that we know nothing about also interests me. It also amazes me as to how far the world has came with their technology advancements and I can only imagine how much farther the advancements with get. I enjoyed your post!

  3. Interesting take on how our space travel has impacted your life. Our discoveries in outer space do indeed apply to our everyday lives. But I disagree with limited resources. There are already plans to mine asteroids for minerals that are scarce on Earth. Innovations such as fracking and genetically modified food will likely always solve any problems we have from limited resources.
