I personally do not believe that it is completely gone but I do believe that it had been altered. So many young kids have taken over our social networks. Most of the sites I have visited they are either on there bullying, talking about friendships or talking about sex. I say it is altered because when the young kids are on there they are talking about their sexual relationships with other females or males. Many of the guys are posting naked pictures of the females they have been with. This is altering the privacy that many want to keep behind closed doors and it is making people afraid to share pictures with their significant others because they are being leaked. Even when I am on social networks and the variety of people are people my age or older they are doing the same things and I think to myself have I grown up in the wrong generation. This makes scared that maybe one day I’ll be that male or female that gets “exposed”. I believe that many people my age and younger have made social networking their life and not for positive things to get ahead in life but to do negative things on there. People have lost friendships due to social networks, the most recent one is Yik Yak. This website was made to post things anonymously and people took that to their advantage. Many people bullied others, I believe that it was their own friends because some of the post were too private for a stranger to know. Which means that your own friends are the ones bullying you behind a computer or phone screen. So many friendships were lost because of this website. The website has been going on for a while but once the students of Mansfield University got a hold of it everything got worst. Many people look certain sites to find a soul mate but staying in your comfort zone that will not work. Like many people go on catholic dating sites, sites for only African American which I think is ridiculous, their soul mates could be Jewish or even a white person. If you limit yourself to options you are cheating yourself. These sites are made for people who are stuck in their ways and do not want to see what else a different culture has to show you or even what the world has to show and offer. I can go on and on about how this social networks have altered are lives but they will only continue to make more and more sites, because we are almost test dummies to see how much we make a social network grow bigger and bigger and become more popular.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, it's scary how quickly and easily things can be changed but it's also incredible how much good can come from using these things correctly.
